Businessman kills sex worker, commits suicide

Kolkata, Nov 5 (UNI) A person shot dead a sex worker before killing himself in the city's largest red light area of Sonagachi under Battola police station, police today said.

Dilip Patihar, a businessman who used to visit Shika Singh, fired at her in her apartment following an altercation. Late yesterday night Patihar later shot himself in the head.

''Neighbours heard a heated altercation between the two.

Tuesday night over Singh's pregnancy. They also heard loud sounds.

Their bodies were found early this morning,'' police said.

The cause of the incident was yet to be ascertained. Police have started an investigation.
