Unidentified gunmen fire at Army patrol
Guwahati, Nov 4 (UNI) An Army patrol was fired at by suspected militants in Raja Sinla in Meghalaya's East Garo Hills district, bordering Assam, yesterday.
Army sources informed today that unidentified gunmen fired two-three rounds at a routine Army patrol of Red Horns Division from a distant point, forcing the personnel to fire in retaliation.
More troops were sent to the area later and a combing operation launched in the thickly forested adjoining places to eliminate possibility of presence of ultras.

There were no injuries on the Army side, the sources added.
