TN govt to take final decision on TV sets pricing tomorrow
Chennai, Nov 4 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government will decide the final price tomorrow for purchasing 40 lakh colour TV sets to be distributed to the poor under the fourth phase of the free CTV scheme, one of the populist schemes that catapulted the DMK to power in the May 2006 Assembly polls.
A meeting of the Legislators of various parties, chaired by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, today opened the price bids from 17 qualified companies and found that Messrs B G International had quoted the lowest price.
The meeting decided to invite the representatives of the company tomorrow to finalise the price of CTV before placing orders with other companies.
The meeting would be held at 1130 hrs tomorrow at the State Secretariat, an official release said.
