Protest against ex-minister's wife

Dhar, MP, Nov 4 (UNI) Local Bharatiya Janata Party leader Prabhu Rathore has opened a front against former Union minister Vikram Verma's wife Meena being made the BJP candidate in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh's Dhar assembly constituency.

Mr Rathore held a meeting with his ''supporters'' here today, protested against Ms Verma's nomination and said if the candidate was not changed then he might submit his nomination papers as an independent from Dhar.

''Nepotism is being encouraged in a party that calls itself disciplined,'' he alleged. About 70 people took out a silent procession against Ms Verma's candidature and then submitted a memorandum to the BJP's District President.

More than three dozen workers led by Rajgarh Nagar Panchayat President Suresh Tated submitted a memo in protest against this district's Sardarpur reserved seat's BJP nominee Mukam Singh Nizwan.

Though the Congress candidate for Dhar is yet unannounced, a tug-of-war ensued over the likely names and consequent allegations and counter-allegations are being traded.
