Police arrest two suspected terrorists

Aluva, Kerala, Nov 4 (UNI) Police today arrested two persons allegedly having links with suspected terrorist Nazeer of Kannur.

The arrested were identified as Sabeer (29) of Parappuram near Perumbavoor and Ismail alias 'bomb Ismail'(30) of Edathala. They were nabbed from their hideout here.

While Sabeer was remanded to judicial custody, Ismail was released on bail after they were produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate.

According to Dy SP P N Unniraja, the duo provided conveyance facility for Nazeer to move about. They also allegedly arranged hideout for him and his family to stay.

Both of them were accused in several criminal cases including the burning of a bus of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation at Kalamassery few years ago. Ismail was also an accused in the attempt on the life of the late Chief Minister E K Nayanar a decade ago by hurling a bomb at him.
