NDS to invest $150 mln over next 4 years in India

New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) Technology solutions provider to digital pay television NDS Group today said it plans to invest about 150 million dollars over the next four years in the country to expand its Research and Development Centre and commercial offices to reap the benefit of accelerating digitisation of pay-TV services.

''We have already invested 120 million dollars in the country since opening our R&D Centre in Bangalore in 2000. Now we plan to infuse 150 million dollars more to support the increasing digitalisation of pay-TV across the country,'' company Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Abe Peled told reporters on the sidelines of a conference here.

The company is considering to have multiple location for its R&D centre, he said.

The NDS Bangalore R&D facility has designed solutions for a variety of global platforms, including interactive TV applications (iTV), games and multilingual electronic programme guides (EPGs).

NDS India provides solutions for a number of firms, including Bharti Airtel, Digital Entertainment Network, Hathway and Tata Sky.
