Four held, gold worth Rs 1.2 cr recovered
Bangalore, Nov 4 (UNI) Four members of a dacoit gang, who were involved in a daylight robbery of a finance company, were arrested and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.2 crore recovered from them today.
Talking to newspersons here, City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said the arrest was made four days after the crime was committed at the Manapuram General Finance and Leasing Company at Hamumantangar in the city.
They used lethal weapons and injured the staff members, including the manager and cashier of the company, before fleeing with the booty of pledged ornaments from the lockers. The arrested were identified as Chetan Kumar (24), Manjunath (23), Arun (23) and Ravichandran (23), he said.
The Police Commissioner said Chetan Kumar, hailing from Rajasthan, who knew the functioning of the company well, was the kingpin behind the crime.
