Easy wins for Manipur, Maharashtra and TN
Chandigarh, Nov 4 (UNI) Manipur, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu scored fluent victories in their respeective clusters on the second day of the the Seventh Girls Junior National Football Championship for Under-19 being conducted by the Haryana Football Association in Faridabad. and Gurgaon today.
Powerful Maharashtra toyed with Himachal Pradesh by 9-1 in a Cluster V qualifying match in Gurgaon. The highlight of the one-sided match was hat-tricks by SV Ganaugh (30th, 37th, 54th minutes) and Rathi Rada (57th, 67th and 76th). S Younis (3rd), LP Manohar (22nd) and BL Maruti (14th) were the other scorers for the winners.
The solitary goal for Himachal Pradesh was netted by Monika in the 60th minute.
In another Cluster V match, strong contenders Manipur outclassed Jharkhand by 7-0. TN Devi (1st, 16th), Ittarani (14th), NM Devi (35th), Mandagni (38th), Vinodni (60th) and K Kumawri (75th) were the winners' goal-getters.
Tripura beat Bihar by 2-0 in a cluster VII fixture. Sivan Bonix and Mita Saka contributed one goal each in the 10th and 24th minutes, respectively.
With Kalpana scoring a brace (63rd and 68th), Tamil Nadu gave a soccer lesson to Chattisgarh by 6-0 for start their campaign with a bang in cluster VI match in Faridabad.
G Sorya (14th), Chiranjia (32nd), Vidyavati (51st), Jayalaxmi (73rd) were the other markswomen for Tamil Nadu.
