Contract lecturers observe relay fast

Tirupati, Nov 4 (UNI) Fifty contract lecturers, working in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) run educational institutions, today resorted to a relay fast in front of the TTD administrative building here, demanding regularisation of their services.

The lecturers alleged that TTD authorities were dragging the long pending issue though the Trust Board had already passed a resolution eight month back.

We only wanted the TTD authorities to implement the decision of the Board, they added.

Meanwhile, all political parties unanimously demanded the TTD authorities to regularise the services of the contract lecturers.

More than 200 lecturers are working in TTD-run colleges.
