Bahujan Samaj Morcha responds positively to Cong demand

Phagwara, Nov 4 (UNI) The Bahujan Samaj Morcha (BSM) is not averse to entering into an alliance with the Congress for the next Lok Sabha polls.

Stating this here today, BSM president Satnam Singh Kainth welcomed the statement of Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Mohinder Singh Kaypee who had recently indicated at forging an alliance with secular parties like the BSM.

The BSM was formed about a decade back after Mr Kainth was expelled from the BSP. Mr Kainth was one of the founding members of the BSP alongwith the late, Kanshi Ram.

In the last assembly polls, the BSM had extended support to the Congress. In the 2002 assembly polls it also had an alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).

Mr Kainth a former MP said that he would undertake a tour of the state to mobilise party workers. The state level rally of the party would be held on December nine at Phagwara.
