SP complains to EC about BSP's illegal attitude in Hardoi bypolls
Lucknow, Nov 3 (UNI) Samajwadi Party today complained to the Election Commission (EC) that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leaders were threatening his party leaders to work for them in the Hardoi assembly bypolls.
In a memorandum to the state electoral officer(SEO) here, SP working president Shivpal Singh Yadav alleged that in order to win the bypolls, the ruling BSP leaders were adopting all illegal and undemocratic measures to harass the SP workers.
Former Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal's son Nitin, who has now shifted to the BSP, is the BSP candidate from the seat where by-elections would be held on November 15. The bypolls was necessitated after Mr Naresh Agarwal resigned to accomodate his son.
''The BSP leaders were even threatening the voters to support their candidate in the by-elections,'' the SP leader claimed.
Alleging that the district officials were dancing to the tunes of the BSP leaders, Mr Yadav said the EC should look upon the issue and make stringent arrangement for a free and fair polls in Hardoi.
