Six kidnapped boys rescued, one kidnapper nabbed

Jalandhar, Nov 3 (UNI) District police today succeeded in rescuing six boys, who had their homes in Hisar district of Haryana and were kidnapped en route on Saturday in Phagwara.

According to police sources, the boys were residents of Motlobari village in Hisar District in Haryana and had stayed in an inn at Phagwara.

The matter came to the notice of police when a relative of the kidnapped boy reached Jalandhar CIA branch and revealed that they had received a ransom call from the kidnappers who were demanding Rs two lakh as extortion money to release all six boys safely.

Police sources revealed that the deal was fixed and kidnappers told relatives of the boys to bring money near Kala Bakra village on Pathankot Road and one cop of CIA staff in the guise of driver went along with them.

The kidnappers who grew suspicious, kept changing the venue and later fled from the spot. The police managed to nab one of them in Bhogpur when he tried to hide amid fields.

Rescued boys were identified as Suresh, Balwinder, Tosha, Subash, Dharmendra and Subash.

Efforts were on to nab the remaining kidnappers, sources said.
