Involve separatists for talks to resolve Kashmir issue: PDF

Srinagar, Nov 3 (UNI) Adovcating involvement of separatist organisations in the dialogue process to resolve the Kashmir issue, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and former minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen said the autonomy formula of National Conference (NC) and self-rule of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will dilute the core Kashmir issue.

The Kashmir issue can only be solved by dialogue process between India and Pakistan and involving separatist parties of Kashmir, Mr Yaseen said a day long workers convention at Badgam in central Kashmir today.

He said the Kashmir issue was still there between India and Pakistan when people of the valley were enjoying autonomy before 1953.

''Self rule and autonomy documents have nothing to do with vexed Kashmir issue, said Mr Hakeem, and adding it can only be solved by a meaningful dialogue process.

Mr Hakeem, who has decided to contest the elections, however, said polls are no solution to the issue.

He said the elections are to run the administrative and developmental affairs of the state smoothly.
