K'taka: Engineering student drowns in Cauvery river

Madikeri (Karnataka), Nov 3: An engineering student on tour drowned on Sunday, Nov 2 in River Cauvery at Dubare. According to police, Manjunath (24) came to Dubare from Hassan along with eight friends.

He drowned in a whirlpool even as Forest Guards made a vain attempt to save him.

The body was taken to Holenarasipur, his native, today. Siddapur police have registered a case.
