CPI slams Cong on law and order problems

Puducherry, Nov 3 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) today charged the Congress with creating law and order problems in the Union Territory.

Addressing the media here, CPI State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan and National Council Member R Viswanathan, both MLAs, said Tamil Associations were on fast with police permission to condemn the killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka when Youth Congress volunteers ransacked the venue.

However, police arrested the association members and remanded them while the Youth Congress volunteers, arrested for putting up road blockade, were released immediately.

Even PCC President A V Subramanian joined the road blockade, they claimed.

Demanding the release of all Tamil activists forthwith,they recalled during an all-party meeting, all parties had agreed to resort to road blockades after getting the due permission from the police. However, the Youth Congress violated it,they claimed.
