Coldwave sweeps N Coastal AP
Visakhapatnam, Nov 3 (UNI) Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next three days.
According to weather officials here today, the minimum temperature fell appreciably over Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and the neibouring areas which were reeling under cold conditions as mercury dipped for the first time in the season to 18 degree Celsius.
The agency reports said cold winds were sweeping the valley and it became severe in the last two days, with fog enveloping the area forcing the people to rush indoors much before sunset.
In the interior villages, bonfires were lit throughout the day and night to protect children and elderly.
People also stopped travelling by two-wheelers and preferred autorickshaws and public transport.
