Chiranjeevi reiterates his support for separate telangana
Hyderabad, Nov 03 (UNI)Praja Rajyam Party(PRP) founder-President Chiranjeevi today reiterated that his party would support any proposal to create a separate Telangana state.
Addressing the gathering at Warangal on the fifth day of the second leg of his 'Praja Ankita Yatra' he said the PRP had already announced its stand on the statehood issue during his 'Jagitayala' tour.
He said the PRP would always honour and work for the aspirations of the people of Telangana.
Allegting that the Congress party had cheated the people of Telangana, he said if the Centre proposes a resolution, the PRP would fully support it.
The actor-turned-politician claimed that Telangana was not a Backward area. But successive governments' lack of interest in its development had pushed it to backwardness.
Alleging that some political parties were utilising the issue for political gain, he said the Congress party which had contested the polls in alliance with the Telagnana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) during 2004 elections, had not spelt out it's stand on the statehood issue.
He sought the support of the people to strengthen his party and assured them that he would solve the problems of cotton producers in the state if PRP was voted to power.
