Bharti Airtel to roll out services in Sri Lanka next month
New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) Bharti Airtel, the country's top mobile operator, today said it will start its operations in Sri Lanka in December this year.
''We will roll out the services next month as all formalities are done and issues relating to inter-connectivity have been sorted out,'' Bharti Enterprises Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Rajan Mittal told reporters here.
Bharti Airtel has been facing problem for getting interconnection from the local operators in the island country.
Bharti Airtel Lanka Private Ltd, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Ltd, had already announced plans to launch 2G and 3G services in Sri Lanka under the same brand Airtel.
It had signed a 150 million dollar deal with China's Huawei Technologies to set up a mobile phone network in Sri Lanka.
