Kerala govt's Anti-Centre stir ridiculous: Vayalar Ravi
Pathanamthitta, Nov 2 (UNI) Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi today ridiculed the 'anti-Centre' stir launched by the LDF Governemnt even after failing to implement centrally sponsored projects worth Rs 33,500.
After inaugurating the ''Jana Sadas'' held under the auspices of UDF district committee here, he alleged that the LDF Government was treading the same path of ''governance and struggle'' which was propounded by E M S 49 years ago.
Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan was simply imitating the style of E M S blindly, he said adding the infighting between the CPI(M) and CPI on food security was detrimental to the interest of the common man.
Claiming that the Centre did not cut even a single gram from the BPL list, he said Kerala was the sole state with minimum rice production and the CPI(M)'s opposition to the sowing and harvesting machines was ironical when there was acute shortage of farm-hands.
The Government had failed to harness the available water in dams of various hydro-electric projects, he alleged.
The non functioning of four generators out of six at Kakki dam was not the fault of the Centre, he said and alleged that even after selling electricity to the tune of Rs 1,540 crore, the Government was resorting to load shedding and hiking electricity rate.
He alleged that the CPI(M)'s allergy towards BJP was fake.
