AP Govt failed to stop illegal construction of Babli project
Hyderabad, Nov 2 (UNI) Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) founder-President Chiranjeevi today alleged that the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh had failed to stop the illegal construction of Babli project by Maharashtra government on river Godavari.
Addressing a gathering at Huzurabad in Karimnagar District on the fourth day of the second leg of his ''Praja Ankita Yatra'', the actor-politician said though Congress was in power in Centre, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh, the Union Government had failed to direct the Maharashtra govenrment to stop the project which would affect the districts in Telangana region.
Charging the ruling Congress government in the state for failing to control the prices of essential commodities, he said price rise was affecting the common people.
The PRP was committed to the welfare of people of the state, he said adding that his party, if voted to power in the next elections would mitigate the problems of people.
Meanwhile, Telangana Rastra Samithi Party workers demanded that Chiranjeevi spell out his stand on separate Telagnana.
A few party workers waving party flags rushed towards his convoy and demanded his to stand on Telangnana.
