UPA, only cause of rising terrorism in country: BJP
Jaunpur, Nov 1 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union Minister of State for Home Swami Chinmayanand today accused the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre for its frailty to check terrorism and preserve internal security of the country.
''It is due to the laxity on the part of the Centre that the innocent people are dying in the increasing terrorist attacks,'' Mr Chinmayanand said here addressing mediapersons.
It was sad to note that our country has no effective law to combat terrorism, he said, adding. the terror incidents had, however, plummeted under the regime of the National Democrative Alliance (NDA), who came up with the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA).
The BJP leader denounced Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for attempting to divide the nation on the basis of states.
''Mr Thackeray should be booked under the National Security Act and a case for treason should also be initiated against him urgently,'' Mr Chinmayanand sought.
