Tamil Film industry holds fast on Lankan issue
Chennai, Nov 1 (UNI) The Tamil Film Fraternity, led by the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA), today observed a daylong fast to condemn the killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka by the Island Nation's Army and seek the Centre's intervention to bring about a peaceful solution to the ethnic crisis.
Organised on the premises of the SIFAA in the city, the fast was attended by the who's who of the Tamil Film Industry led by SIFAA President Sarath Kumar.
Prominent among those took part were Prakash Raj, Napolean, Chandrasekar, Vijay,Vikram and Mumtaz. Most of the artistes were clad in black.
This is the second time the Tamil Film Industry was holding an agitation to draw the attention of the government to the Lankan Tamil issue after Directors and Producers, led by Bharathiraja, held a massive rally at Rameswaram on October 19.
