One killed six injured in Midnapore
Midnapur, Nov 01 (UNI) Proscribed Maoists gunned down a CPM activist at Belpahari in West Midnapur district late last night.
Police said Indrajeet Mura, a member of the Krishak Sabha affiliated to the peasant unit of the CPI(M) was returning home when ultras shot him dead.
None was arrested so far in this connection, SP West Midnapur Rajesh Singh said.
In another incident a severe gun battle between the CPM and TMC activists began early this morning in Satengabari village under Nandigram police station in East Midnapur injuring six people.
The injured were admitted to Nandigram Hospital, SP East Midnapur Ashok Kumar said.
