Govt school teachers to go on indefinite strike from Nov 5
Puducherry, Nov 1 (UNI) The government school teachers in the union territory will go on indefinite strike from November 5 to press their demands.
Addressing mediapersons here today, Government Teachers Association Coordination Committee Coordinator Seshachalam said the teachers had given strike notice demanding the immediate implementation of the VI Pay Commission recommendations and unconditional implementation of Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme.
Mr Seshachalam claimed though the Madras High Court and the Supreme Court as well as different tribunals had ruled in favour of the teachers in respect of the ACP, the Puducherry administration was reluctant to implement the recommendation, thereby forcing them to strike work.
