BJP workers protest ticket to sitting MLA
Rajgarh, MP, Nov 1 (UNI) A group of more than 500 BJP workers took out a rally last night and again this morning in Bioara town in this district of Madhya Pradesh to protest against the allotment of party ticket to sitting member and former minister Badrilal Yadav.
A near total bandh is being observed in Bioara town today to protest BJP's decision to field Yadav again from Bioara. Main markets and business establishments remained closed. The bandh is peaceful, police said.
The protesters were reportedly supporters of former BJP MLA D M Jagtap, who was also in the race for ticket this time. At Peepal Chowk, they raised slogans against Yadav, who was a minister of state in the ministry of both Uma Bharti and Babulal Gaur.
Mr Yadav did not find berth in the ministry of incumbent Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who assumed office on November 29, 2005.
BJP yesterday announced the first list of 115 candidates including Mr Chouhan. As many as 28 sitting MLAs, including a minister, were dropped, the party said.
