Chittoor, Oct 31 (UNI) The Vigilance and Enforcement team have raided on Markfed, an Apex Cooperative Marketing Federation, and found large scale irregularities in the fertiliser distribution here today.

The team led by DSP Annuri Saheb, who verifying the Markfed administration records and fertiliser stocks since last evening, found no records for the 65 MTs which was already distributed to the various private fertilizer dealers approved by the District Administration.

The raids were still continuing at Markfed and large scale irregularities in maintaining the records was found in their raids, the DSP told UNI.

The raids were conducted in the wake of the complaints received from farmers over lapses in fertiliser distribution by the dealers in Chittoor district.

In the raid, officials from IFFCO and KRIBHCO, whose companies have tied up with Markfed, also participated.

Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation (Markfed) Chairman P Prabhakar has ordered an inquiry to the irregularities in the records at Chittoor Markfed office.
