Police arrests person on charge of raping physically disabled

Kendrapara, Oct 31 (UNI) Police have arrested a person on charge of raping a 30-year-old physically disabled woman.

Police said, on the night of October 27 one Ajay Mallick, a resident of Bhagabanpur Gram Panchayat, took woman to the backside of her house and allegedly raped her.

When the woman shouted the youth fled from the spot.

On the next day the victim's father lodged an FIR in the Kendrapara police station.

Acting on the FIR, Kendrapara police arrested the youth yesterday under Section 376 of IPC and sent him to Kendrapara district Headquarter Hospital for medical test.
