Pakistani, Turkish Air Forces to conduct joint drills
Islamabad, Oct 31 (UNI) A contingent of six multi-role F-16s of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has reached Turkey to participate in a bilateral air exercise code named 'Anatolian Eagle 2008.' A PAF spokesman said here today that participation in the 15-day air exercise in Turkey would be an interesting as well as challenging task for PAF F-16s pilots.
He said the exercise would not only shape up training of PAF officers and men but would also serve as a milestone in strengthening ties between both the countries participating in the exercise.
The PAF has historically participated in multi-national Air Force exercises in the past. This includes 'Anatolian Eagle' exercise series held in 2004 and 2006, and other exercises with the US, UK, Iran and Turkey. These exercises have been of tremendous learning value for all participants.
'Anatolian Eagle 2008' will be a step in the same direction, the spokesman added.
