New winter timing for schools in Kashmir from tomorrow
Srinagar, Oct 31 (UNI) With the onset of winter, the authorities in the Kashmir Valley have changed school timing from tomorrow.
According to the Director, School Education Kashmir, the school timing in the Kashmir Division (Winter Zone) shall be from 1100 hours to 1600 hours from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the state government has decided to include Kashmiri language in the curricular scheme as compulsory subject up to secondary stage of schooling in all the schools of the Valley.
Accordingly the education department has made it compulsory for all 8th class students of Kashmir Valley to appear in kashmiri subject in the examination scheduled from November3, 2008.
However, the marks to be obtained by the students in the subject shall not be added to the aggregate marks secured in the rest of the subjects and the marks securer shall in no way affect the result merit of the students.
