Management to take action on student over shooting incident

Mangalore, Oct 31 (UNI) The management of A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Derlakatte, near here has decided to take stern action against a MDS student for accidentally shooting at himself with his licensed pistol on the institute campus on October 29.

A meeting of the teaching faculty of the institute held yesterday, unanimously supported the management's move to take severe action against Kishore George for bringing disrepute to the reputation of the Institute.

However, the penal action had been deferred for the time being as the student was still under intensive care.

Meanwhile, sources said Kishore was recuperating in a private hospital here.

After an operation was conducted on him on Wednesday that lasted over five hours, the bullet that pierced close to his liver was removed by the doctors.

The sources said Kishore, who drove swanky cars and often showed his pistol to peers and juniors led a cosy life.

Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao had sought more details on the shooting incident from the police.
