Blind man violates Code of Conduct
Rajgarh, MP, Oct 31 (UNI) A 55-year-old visually-handicapped man has been charged with violating the Model Code of Conduct in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh as he used a loudspeaker sans permission in this district's Bioara to drum up support for the former chief minister Uma Bharti-led Bharatiya Jan Shakti, police said.
A case was registered yesterday under the Indian Penal Code's Section 188 against Shyam Soni who is blind since birth. Bioara's Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and former minister of state for agriculture Badrilal Yadav had complained to the District Returning Officer.
Soni sustains his family by publicising sale of commercial items, moveable and immovable property through the loudspeaker on a handcart. During elections, he drums up support for political parties in exchange for money.
