BJP spokesman resigns over candidature differences in J
Jammu, Oct 31 (UNI) Sharp differences have surfaced in Jammu and Kashmir BJP over the nominations for Assembly elections with its senior leader and spokesman Prof Hari Om tendering his resignation from party position as well as its primary membership.
There were differences among the leaders over candidate selection, especially for ''prestigious'' three seats of Jammu city, sources told UNI.
At a party meeting chaired by senior BJP leader and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shanta Kumar, to finalise the list of candidates, Prof Hari Om got dejected over a point and left the hall in a huff last evening, the sources added.
''Thereafter Prof Hari Om submitted his resignation, both, from party position and primary membership, to the state BJP president Ashok Khajuria,'' a party source said.
BJP state president, when contacted today, said, ''We are hopeful that the matter will be sorted out with Prof Hari Om.'' UNI VJ RSA SB RK1215
