Admn urged to get funds from Centre to help AFT mills: DMK
Puducherry, Oct 31 (UNI) The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Puducherry today urged the administration to take immediate steps to get funds from the Centre to bail out the sinking Anglo-French Textile (AFT) mills here.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at the executive committee meeting of the party here.
Another resolution urged the administration to find a solution to the pay anomalies of the workers of Swadeshi, Bharathi and SPINCO mills here.
Resolutions urging the administration to take immediate steps to provide time-bound promotions to the teachers here and to implement the sixth pay commission recommendations to them, regularise and grant promotions to the daily-rated and part time employees in several departments of the administration, who had put in more than three years service and to enhance the procurement price of milk were adopted at the meeting.
The meeting resolved to accord a grand reception to Tamil Nadu Local Administration Minister M K Stalin on his arrival here on November 8 to take part in the Anna centenary conference.
