80 per cent polling recorded in K'taka Council elections

Bangalore, Oct 31 (UNI) About 80 per cent of the voters exercised their franchise in the elections to the three Karnataka Legislative Council seats from local bodies constituencies of Dharwad, Kodagu and Belgaum today.

Official sources in the State Election Commission said no untoward incident was reported during the elections.

Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are locked in a straight fight in the elections. Janata Dal(S) has extended its support to the Congress in a joint opposition bid to defeat the BJP.
