48 hour Akhand Path begins at Nanak Jhira Gurudwara

Bidar, Oct 31 (UNI) The 48-hour Akhand Path, recitation of Hymns of the Sikhs Sacred 'Guru Granth Sahim' began at the Guru Nanak Jhira Gurudwara here this morning.

The 48-hour Akhand was being recited by 51 members of the Nanak Jhira Gurudwara as part of several spiritual programmes being held on the occasion of the tri-cantenary celebrations of Guru Granth Sahib.

Earlier, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Etarnal guru of Sikhs, was taken to the venue from the Gurudwara in a procession in which hundreds of Sikh devotees participated.

As many as 10,000 Sikh davotess who came from across the country, offered prayers in the Gurudwara.
