17 SAF Jawans wounded in landmine blast

Jagdalpur, Oct 31 (UNI) Seventeen jawans of the Chhattisgarh Special Armed Force were injured in an early morning landmine blast triggered by Maoist naxalites in Naryanpur district of Chhattisgarh, police said.

Bastar range Inspector General of Police A N Upadhyaya said Maoist rebels blasted landmines when the jawans were proceeding towards Naryanpur on a bus for road opening work on Narayanpur -Konadagaon road under Benur police station limit.

The ultras also opened fire at the police personnel, who suffered injuries with flying stones propped up due to blast impact. The injured were admitted to Narayanpur hospital, police added.
