UP CM condemns serial blasts in Assam

Lucknow, Oct 30 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati has condemned the serial bomb blasts in Assam today and urged the Centre to act tough on terror acts.

''The recent terrorist strikes have shaken the residents and now the serial blasts in Assam have added to the woes,'' she said at a press conference here this evening.

Ms Mayawati said she has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take effective actions to curb the menace of terrorism and also adopt measures to ensure security at the borders.

''My party and government condemn the incident and pay condolences to the families of the victims,'' she said.
