Two cases lodged against Raj Thackeray in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, Oct 29 (UNI) Two cases have been filed in a Jharkhand court here today, one against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for airing inflammatory speeches against the people of Bihar and inciting his activists to burn a man to death and other aginst Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil and others for death of Rahul Raj.

The first case was in connection with the death of one M Rajeswar, who was set on fire at Raigarh district on July 16 by the MNS workers after being instigated by the MNS chief. He was admitted to the Alibaugh civil hospital and succumbed to his injuries two days later. The petition was filed by M Prabhakar, the younger brother of the victim.

The chief judicial magistrate P K Moitra had taken cognisance of the case, registered against Thackeray and 15 others, and had transferred it to the court of Ist class Judicial Magistrate B K Pandey for proper inquiry.

The court has fixed November 12 for the proceedings.

The other case was loged by a local advocate Rajiv Kumar in connection with the death of one Bihar boy Rahul Raj, who killed in alleged fake encounter with the Mumbai police on October 27.

It accused Home Minister R R Patil, Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray and three top officers of Mumbai police-- Assistant Commissioner of Police of Mumbai Mohd Javed, Deputy Commissioner of Police Millind Bhambre and Additional Commissioner of Police Sadanand Datte-- of the crime.

The court had admitted the case for hearing.

Several cases have already been running against Thackeray in two courts of Jamshedpur for airing inflammatory speeches against the people of Bihar. In one case, a non-bailable warrant had also been issued by the court against thackeray which MNS chief had filed a petition in the High Court of Jharkhand.

For this the hearing will be held on November 14.
