Trinamool urges Jindal not to follow Tata's pathway

Kolkata, Oct 30 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Partho Chatterjee (Trinamool Congress) today said his party was against forceful land acquisition to set up industry in the state.

Talking to newspersons here, he said '' we are in favour of both industry and agriculture to flourish in the state and the Left Front government should return the land to unwilling farmers in Singur, where Tata Motors had set up a small car project.

They will oppose any forceful land acquisition for industry, he added.

'' The government was spending sleepless nights for Singur episode after Tata motors pulled out from the state, he said adding violence erupted against the opposition parties at Salboni of East Midnapore where Jindal group were setting up Rs 35,000 crores steel plant''.

'' We urge Jindal group not to follow the pathway of Tata groups'' he said.
