Quantum of sentence in HAS officer case on Nov 3

Dharamshala, Oct 30 (UNI) Additional District and Session Judge, S L Sharma today put off announcing the quantum of sentence in a Prevention of Corruption case against HAS officer, Rakesh Kapoor.

The quantum of sentence would now be announced on November 3.

The judgement convicting the1998 batch Himachal Pradesh Adminstrative Services (HAS) offical, Rakesh Kapoor under Prevention of Corruption Act was delivered last week and October 30 was fixed by the court for announcing the quantum of sentence.

During arguments, the prosecution had pleaded for maximum sentence for the accused official. Complainant S S Sidhu, who is holder of the general power of attorney of white Heavan resort had alleged that the accused HAS officer was demanding a bribe for registration of his hotel.

On his complaint the accused officer was taped while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in his office.
