Jaya slips while boarding plane, gives anxious moments
Chennai, Oct 30 (UNI) Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa gave some anxious moments when she slipped while boarding a seven-seater special aircraft to Madurai en route Pasumpon to participate in the Muthuramalinga Thevar Jayanthi Celebrations.
Airport sources said Ms Jayalalithaa was about to board the aircraft, which came from Mumbai this morning, when she slipped while climbing the second step of the three-step ladder to the aircraft.
''Ms Jayalalithaa managed to regain balance herself. She stood on the ladder for four to five minutes before deciding to return home.
''A visibly angry Ms Jayalalithaa came down, called up her Personal Assistant and asked him to bring the car back.
She boarded the car and returned to her Poes Garden Residence.
She did not speak to anyone,'' the sources said.
Ms Jayalalithaa was to board the small aircraft to Madurai from where she would take a chopper to Pasumpon to participate in the Thevar Jayanthi Celebrations. She was expected to return the city by the same mode by 1600 hrs.
Accompanied by her close-aide Sasikala, a Personal Security Officer, Personal Assistant and a servant maid, she reached the airport at 1055 hrs.
The three-step ladder was pulled to the aircraft to enable her board the flight, when she slipped.
