HC seeks details on Jaya's security

Chennai, Oct 30 (UNI) Madras High Court today directed the Tamil Nadu Government to furnish details of the security provided to Former State Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa on or before November 5.

When the matter came up before Justice M Jayachandran, Advocate General G Masilamani submitted that the government was providing full security to the Former Chief Minister, according to the guidelines of the 'Z Plus' category.

Even today, as the Former Chief Minister was proceeding to Madurai and Sivaganga Districts for taking part in the centenary celebrations of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar, adequate protection was given to her.

On her complaint regarding the threat letter received from abroad, the City Police registered a case and investigation was in progress.

Ms Jayalalithaa's Counsel M Navaneetha Krishnan said a few local policemen were guarding her residential area. She required special task force commandos for her security.

The AG said she could file a written request with the court for the same. Following this, the Judge posted the case to November 5.
