AIADMK sends telegrams urging TN CM to resign
Tiruchirapalli, Oct 29: Tension prevailed at the Central Telegraph Office here when people, most of them belonging to Oppostion AIADMK, made a beeline to file hundreds of telegrams, demanding the resignation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
In their telegrams, they demanded that Mr Karunanidhi should own moral responsibility and immediately step down from the Chief Minister's post for failing to protect the lives of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka and to save the lives of 500 fishermen who were gunned down by the Sri Lankan naval personnel.
The telegrams contained that Mr Karunanidhi was playing an ''unworthy drama'' on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.
City Corporation Councillor and AIADMK leader Srinivasan told newspersons that Mr Karunanidhi should immediately resign accepting the moral responsibility to safeguard the interest of the Lankan Tamils.
