SP leader dies under suspicious circumstances

Satna, MP, Oct 29 (UNI) A local Samajwadi Party leader died under suspicious circumstances in this district last night, police said today.

District SP Yuva Morcha President Ashok Tripathi (27) was found lying unconscious near Kotwali area at about 2230 hours last night.

He was admitted to a private hospital but due to unavailability of oxygen, was rushed to Birla hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment at about 0330 hours.

Mr Tripathi's uncle Ramakant Tripathi alleged that the SP leader was last seen with Satna BJP legislator Shankarlal Tiwari's son Raja Tiwari. Later, he was found unconscious near the MLA's office.

District SP President Rajesh Dubey described the incident as murder and demanded an inquiry into it.

According to police, prima facie, the death appeared to have been caused by consuming poisonous substance. However, the situation would be clear after post-mortem.
