PM congratulates Maldivian President elect

New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today congratulated Mr Mohamed Nasheed, the President elect of the Maldives.

In a message, Mr Singh assured him of India's commitment to further strengthening and deepening of its relations with his country.

''I look forward to working with you towards this end for the mutual benefit of our two peoples,'' he said.

''This is a historic occasion for the people of the Maldives.
