Kerala Fishermen Debt Relief Comm on Nov 1

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 29: Kerala Chief Minister V S Achutanandan today said the Kerala Fishermen Debt Relief Commission would come into force on November one, the "Kerala Piravi" day (Kerala Formation Day).

The Cabinet had given approval to necessary rules and regulations of Kerala Fishermen Debt Relief Commission, he told reporters here after a cabinet meeting.

The Commission would recommend to the government loan waiver, interest waiver and loan re-scheduling to help indebted fishermen.

The cabinet also approved to the guidelines of the Maritime institute in Kasargode.
