Housing Board Work Inspector convicted in ACB case

Hyderabad, Oct 29 (UNI) The Special Judge for ACB cases in Visakhapatnam today sentenced to one-year rigorous imprisonment a Work Inspector T Vijaya Babu in the office of Executive Engineer, Andhra Pradesh Housing Board and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 for the offence under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

The accused would have to undergo two-months simple imprisonment if he defaulted in payment of the fine, a press release here said.

The ACB officials trapped him on November 25, 2002 when he accepted a bribe of Rs 1,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour, the release added.
