150 jhuggis destroyed in major fire in Delhi
New Delhi, Oct 28 (UNI) About 150 jhuggis clusters were gutted in a major fire in Jehangirpuri area of the capital.
There were no casualties, fire service department sources said.
Thirty fire tenders were pressed into service. The call for help was received at 2228hrs and it took about one and half hour to douse the blaze.
The cause of fire could be bursting of fire crackers as part of the Diwali celebrations, they said.
Agitated residents of the area indulged in stone-pelting and damaged three fire tenders. Two persons were injured in the incident.
