Unidentified persons stab businessman

Thane, Oct 28 (UNI) A businessman was brutally stabbed to death by unidentified persons in the heart of the city early today.

Police said at around 0300 hrs, some unknown persons barged into the house of Pravin Gala, situated in the Vaitywadi locality of the city. On hearing the noise, the family members woke up only to see a group of armed men raiding their house. The gang members attacked Pravin and his sons, when they went to his rescue.

Fearing that they would be trapped, the gang members allegedly stabbed Pravin 14 times, killing him instantly. In the scuffle, one of the gang members was also injured.

Police said Gala had a cloth matching centre in the city.

According to reports, it is suspected that the members of the gang were Nepalis.
