Special Court convicts three police officials
Bangalore, Oct 28 (UNI) A Special Lokayukta Court on Saturday convicted three police officers on charges of corruption for showing official favours.
According to a Lokayukta press release said here today, the Court sentenced three police officers A N Mashaldi, Office Superintended, B K Ravinath and Thimmmaraju attached to office of the Bangalore IGP to a Simple Imprisionment between six months one year and slapped a fine between Rs 2000 and Rs 5,000.
The accused were sentenced after a trial by the Special Court in Mysore on a case filed against them in 1997.
Thimmaraju had demanded Rs 2,500 from Ms G S Parvathi, Accounts Superintendeant of Mysore, who had asked for a special favour to forgo the observations made during the audit, the release added.
